Welcome to Design Diaries. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Design Diaries app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
Design Diaries is built for early-career and student designers. You must be at least 16 years old to use the app. By using Design Diaries, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you're using the app in compliance with all applicable laws. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under this age, we may suspend or terminate the account and delete the associated data.
Ownership. You retain ownership of the content you write and post. By posting an entry, you grant Design Diaries a license to display, store, and distribute that content within the app for as long as it's visible on the public feed. Once an entry moves into your own private Diary (see Section 6), that license narrows to storing the entry on your behalf so you can view, manage, or delete it, we no longer distribute it to other users at that point.
What you can post. Entries should be honest reflections related to your design career and experience, wins, struggles, advice, and everything in between. Entries have a 150-word limit and are subject to the daily posting limit shown in the app.
What's not allowed. You may not post content that:
We use automated content checks to help enforce some of these rules (e.g., detecting links, contact information, and certain flagged language), and we reserve the right to remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms, with or without automated detection.
Anonymity is a privilege, not a shield. While your entries are anonymous to other users, we may still take action against accounts that violate these Terms, including content removal, posting restrictions, or account suspension. Violations may be identified through our automated content checks, through reports submitted by other users using the in-app reporting feature, or through our own review.
Design Diaries, including its name, logo, design, and underlying software, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms gives you any right to use our branding, trademarks, or software except as necessary to use the app as intended.
Design Diaries is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we'll provide notice before any change that affects your existing use of the app.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the app and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at info@dasonluo.com. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled when your account is terminated or deleted.
Design Diaries is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Content posted by other users reflects their own views and experiences, not the views of Design Diaries.
Design Diaries is not a substitute for professional advice (career, legal, mental health, or otherwise). If you're in crisis or need support beyond what a peer community can offer, please seek help from a qualified professional or relevant support service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Design Diaries and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including damages related to content posted by other users.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles, and any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the app will be handled in the courts of Alberta.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Design Diaries regarding your use of the app, and supersede any prior agreements.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify users.
